Easter Basket ideas without Candy

Ever since my son was a year and a half he has not been able to digest more than 9 grams of sugar in a sitting. At first this was a shock because everything has sugar in it, right? We researched and learned how to make all of our favorite dishes excluding the sugar. Holidays like Valentine's, Halloween and Easter can be very difficult since they are based highly on giving out candy. Here are some great Easter Basket fillers without candy!
Trolls just wanna have fun, and your little one will too with Dreamworks Trolls World Tour Pop-To-Rock Poppy. Switch her from her sweet pop persona to a rock n roll rockstar in minutes, and she will even switch up her songs when you do! When you hand her the ukulele she sings a pop version and when you switch it up to her electric guitar, she jams to the rock version. Poppy is sure to be your little rock star’s new best friend!
Adventure force's Animal water blasters are a perfect way to add water to your summer fun. Pick from a Shark or Unicorn and watch as they open and close their mouth by pulling the trigger. These squirt animals can shoot water up to 25 feet away and are great for playing at the park, beach or backyard fun. Play day animal squirters are a Walmart exclusive recommended for ages 4 and up.
Adventure force has come out with two new super drench blasters. The Hydro Arsenal comes with two long ranged water blasters with scopes. The Tsunami Drencher is quick to reload and shoots far...... 51 feet far! These are the perfect addition to kids, pre-tweens or even an adult basket! We just love the Adventure Force line, Shop more Adventure Force products HERE.
One of the most popular trends right now is squishy toys for kids. These Paint Your Own Squishy Kits from Doodle Hog come with a white squishy in a fun design like a bunny, three paint pots and a brush so kids can spend hours getting creative and decorating it just the way they want to.
Even though the Easter baskets we create never have a piece of candy in it, he will LOVES them just the same!

Crescent Rolls Recipe

Some of you might be skilled at "baking". I was never given that particular talent. I can cook just about anything but baking has always been a challenge.
I started learning "how-to" bake after idolizing some of my sweet friends recipes over at Savoring the Good! While we go in and out of lockdown, I might as well learn a new hobby. These Crescent Rolls are so delicious and easy to make.
I truly hope you try them and come and tell us!
What you will need:
For the dough:
¾ cup warm milk (whole milk or 2% preferred)
1/4-ounce package active yeast
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk, at room temperature
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
3 cups BREAD flour ( I made this originally with "regular" flour and this bread flour makes ALL the difference, something I learned HERE.)
3/4 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

Trip to Potratz Floral Shop & Greenhouses in Erie, Pennsylvania

"Life's a Garden, Dig it"

I have always loved plants and gardening. I find it to be both relaxing and a talent not everyone has. One of my friends posted about a Greenhouse near us and I am happy to report our visit to the Potratz Floral Shop & Greenhouses in Erie, Pennsylvania. Their Social Media account says it's an elite family owned & operated Floral Shop and "Botanical Garden" with 1000's of options in covered glass just over an acre.
Let me tell you when they say they have 25,000 sq. feet under glass and over 2,000 species including rare plants. Which makes sense because they have been servicing the tri-state area for 100 years.
Their selection flows through 7 greenhouses and seasonally to the outdoors, in addition to a growing range in North East. I have to say walking these greenhouses was so overwhelming in such a good way. I was like a kid on Christmas day! Plants were tucked, hung, laid out, sprung and climbing everywhere around you. From Annuals, house plants to perennials!
Some tips when visiting a Greenhouse:

Know when to Visit your local Greenhouse

Know the Frost Dates in your area

Consider What Kinds of Plants You Wish to Add to Your Garden

Determine the Plants’ Space Needs before purchasing for your home or collection

I hope you enjoyed some of the beauties we encountered while at the Potratz Floral Shop & Greenhouses in Erie!

New Wubble Comet, Groovy Wubble and Super Wubble Reviews

**I received a free product to review. I was not required to write a positive review . The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.

We have reviewed several of the Wubble Ball products because my son personally LOVES them. If you do as well, check out several of the reviews on the Supper WubbleWubble BallWubble Rumblers and Glo Wubble Ball. Each one that comes out has something exciting to offer that leaves us with hours of fun together!
Let's discuss some of the NEW Wubble products coming out!!

Super Wubble Ball looks like a bubble, plays like a ball! Kick it, whack it, throw it, bounce it—even sit on it! Super Wubble is made from a squishy, squashy, super soft and lightweight material called Xpandium and is engineered to be super gentle. Unlike other balls, it molds around whatever it hits – foot or face – then bounces away, leaving laughter in its wake. It can be inflated to gigantic proportions (24-30 inches is best) and is fun to play with indoors or out, all year round.
New Super Wubble is up to four times stronger and more tear-resistant than the original Wubble Bubble Ball. The starter set comes with a portable pump and deflator (for easy storage). Balls are also sold separately, without the pump.
Wubble Comet looks like comet, plays like a ball! Wubble Comet is the Wubble Bubble Ball that puts on a cosmic show! It streaks through the air, glowing blue with a shimmering light tail. Just insert the nozzle and blow into the self-sealing valve to inflate your ball up to 12”. Activate the LED lights and watch a super-cool light show as you kick, toss and catch your Wubble. Lights reactivate each time they sense motion.
Groovy Wubble looks like a bubble and plays like a ball. Now it's taking a walk on the wild side!  New York City-based NSI International, Inc. introduces Groovy Wubble – the Super Wubble bubble ball with multi-colored tie-dye designs.  And dig this: Due to the secret manufacturing process, no two balls are alike! Super soft and lightweight, Super Groovy Wubble looks like a bubble and floats through the air like a bubble, but it plays like a ball.  It's squishy and bouncy. You can kick it, throw it, catch it, smash it – even sit on it.

Easy to bake Banana Bread

Who enjoys banana bread? We had some bananas that were about to go off and I decided to whip up some. If you want to make some banana bread, use bananas that are almost bad, for the best flavor.
What you will need:
3-4 mashed ripe bananas
6 tbsp. of unsalted butter, melted
½ cup of granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups bread flour ( you can use All-purpose but I prefer Bread flour)
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup Chopped pecans ( optional)
I like to mash my bananas before mixing the other ingredients in. Next, combine all other ingredients and mix together well. Spray a loaf oven pan with non-stick spray. Bake at 355 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and no longer gooey in the middle.

Reasons to take a Social Media Detox

“Be a little more you, & a little less them”
This past weekend we took a wonderful Staycation celebrating my birthday 🥳. You can check out all the Reasons to Take a Stay-Cation HERE. I personally used this time to re-focus my work passion (which meant, taking photos of everything).

Social media can be so draining. I often get sucked into the comparison game. One of my followers commented on my post last week:

"Especially with how the world has been lately, I had to come off social media for a good month to somewhat get me out of that depressed state of mind".

I can relate so much with these words! After a year of Lockdown, pandemic life in New York I truly feel Social Media was both an escape and a curse. It sort of keeps you in this virtual world of ciaos. While it gives us a way to connect it can also take us from living in real life. I think my screen time intake has been OVERLOADED!

After a nice long four day stay-cation/retreat these are my thoughts I came back with:

1. Conserve your resources, otherwise you will burn out
2. You can’t pour from an empty cup
3. Be patient through the dry spells
4. Go off screen & live IN REAL LIFE
5. Be YOU - no one else can do that!
6. Stay sharp!
How do you stay passionate in achieving your goals?
Do you write a list of goals you want to reach? Maybe with a timeframe?
If not, highly recommend doing so, it helps!

Reasons to take a Stay-cation

“Some people look for a beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful.”
– Hazrat Inayat Khan⁣ ⁣
Last week we had one of those weeks you can’t easily shake. You know the kind of week when nothing seems to go right 🤦‍♀️⁣ ⁣ On one of the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel's Social media post, I found a deal I couldn't resist! Buy One get One Stays!! We reserved our rooms and booked a weekend staycation. It was just what we all NEEDED 🙌.
I want to take a second and say yes it is still a pandemic. However, the Hotel have some serious COVID-19 safety protocols in place. Not only that but they actually practice them daily 😉. We felt so safe and truly relaxed.
⁣Here are some reasons I think you should try a Staycation:⁣
🗺 Works great for a weekend⁣
🗺 You can support your local economy⁣
🗺 Room Service & a heated pool y’all 😂
⁣ 🗺 Escape your routine⁣ ⁣
🗺  Ordinarily it is going to be cheaper than other trips. You don't have to fly, or really travel to far for that matter.
I have stayed here previously for last year's birthday week before Covid-19. We stayed again this year starting a new tradition?! Which got me thinking just how many of us NEED a break. How many of YOU actually take one?? Just a spur of the moment, let's change things up and reconnect.
Have you ever taken a Stay-cation?⁣
What is the best part of Stay-cations??

Tornado Cake Recipe

I won't lie to anyone my strong points are NOT baking. I can do it depending on the sophistication of the recipe! We had a birthday in our house and since we don't generally like cake ( I know we are weird) I scanned the inter-webs to look for something else. I found this Tornado Cake recipe to try out. It claims it is SUPER easy and ANYONE can do it. I agree! Here are my tweaks to the recipe since the one I found was a tad to sweet AND to moist for my taste.

What you will Need:

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 half of a 20oz can of crushed pineapples ( I used a whole can the first go around and it was SUPER moist, if you like that add the whole can if not keep it to a half).
1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking pan with butter I used a round pan). In a large bowl, mix together: flour, sugar, baking soda, eggs, vanilla, and crushed pineapple. Once combine pour into your baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Poke several holes in the cake (this is for the topping).
In a sauce pan, heat your Topping ingredients: butter, sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla until it reaches a boil. Next mix in your chopped pecans, coconut flakes and continue cooking for 2-5 minutes on medium heat, stirring constantly.
Slice & Enjoy!
