Celebrating the Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood App

This post is a promotional program with MomSelect. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
Are you ready to get Summer started? We just celebrated in style with a Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood party!
"Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood is a revival of the classic Peter and the Wolf tale brought to you by acclaimed production company, Giants Are Small. This version brings Peter to Hollywood to meet his hippie grandfather while bringing classical music elements to life. Peter, along with all of the characters in the movie book, are narrated and brought to life by Rock n’ Roll legend, Alice Cooper".
First up we decided to craft, color and listen to the Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood Soundtrack!
Nothing kicks a party off right then with some music and fun activities!

Steak Wrap Recipe

I love to cook UNTIL the weather outside makes it so hot the last thing I want to do is stand over a hot stove. Try creating these quick to make Steak Wraps.
What you will need:
Cheese slices ( we used Provolone)
Small Onion diced
Garlic (diced)
Honey
Steak Cutlets
Spinach leaves
Mushrooms ( optional)
Pan fry the onion, garlic and mushrooms.
Lay the cutlets on a cutting board and spoon the diced mix on top of them.
 Add spinach over that.
Next add the cheese in a layer fashion and roll.
Normally, I stick tooth picks (but I did not have nay) into the pieces and slice.
Add olive oil and honey in the frying pan. Then pan fry the wraps one by one.
They do not take long to fry at all and plate once cheese has melted.
Serve and enjoy!

7 Truths About Visiting Washington D.C.

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -- Benjamin Franklin.

My son is learning about the presidents in his first-grade class. We came up with a genius idea to take him to Washington D.C. for an extended vacation to have him enrich his learning firsthand. I have never properly visited this area, so a lot of research/trial and error went into our trip. I thought I would share our seven truths about visiting Washington D.C. to help with anyone else traveling here with your families.

1. Traffic. You can only begin to imagine the traffic in downtown Washington D.C. and surrounding areas. Think tourists flashing cameras, food trucks and everyday city bustle. I would suggest you walking to your destinations or using public transport of some sort to get around. We hopped on the Metro and that drastically cut down on walking! I was born and raised in New York so for me driving in traffic is not the end all but it really is not worth it when everything is within walking distance.

2. Bring a reusable water bottle with you! We visited over an extended weekend and the weather was rather warm and enjoyable. Walking around in the sunshine we drank a lot of liquids. You can refill at several water fountains scattered around the parks, in museums and attractions.

7 Ways to Experience St. Augustine Florida

Ready for sun, brick laid streets, rich history and beaches? If you have never graced the streets of St. Augustine then, my friends, plan a trip! It is hands down one of my favorite all time places to visit. From historic museums to ghost tours there is truly something for everyone!
1. Bridge of lions can be seen as you enter the Old city from A1A. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to the four towers in the middle of the draw bridge. The two lion statues set "guarding" and accept both walking and vehicle traffic along the intercoastal waterway. Not only a great place to sight see but also perfect for "selfies".
2. Start your morning off with a Scenic cruise. They have several in the harbor you can choose from but I recommend booking for an early departure. This gives you the best chance of enjoying dolphins! We enjoyed some dolphins by the boat before our scenic tour even began. Many tours give views of the Castillo De San Marcos and if you really look you just might see a gator or eagle hanging out!
3. Castillo De San Marcos is my next suggestion. I like to visit here early on as the crowds can get rather heavy towards the afternoon and evening time. This is a great fort to explore with kids and immerse them in the rich history it has. They often have cannon demonstrations, tours and workers walking about to answer any questions you might have.
4. Walk St. George Street . This is one of my favorite places to gather with family and friends. It houses restaurants, shops, connects to local attractions. Enjoy these great places in walking distance the Oldest Sooden School house, Spanish Military hospital, Pirates Treasure museum, Villa Zorayda and so many more. I also recommend a small little coffee shop secretly located by this water fountain (pictured above) just off St. George and Orange street! Many of these shops open later in the day and close by 5pm so keep that in mind when planning your day.
5. This city might be old but has so much to offer. I recommend staying close by to rest your feet and recharge! Bed and breakfasts are conveniently throughout the old city. Enjoy St. Francis Inn if you are traveling with kids as they can accommodate and provide extras like dessert at night! The Agustin Inn is also a great choice for couples. If you want to enjoy the sandy beaches and sun but still stay close to town try the Holidayisle Oceanfront Resort. Many of these have shuttles that run to the Old City and also carry extra amenities!
6. If you do happen to go out of the Historic town they have several others great Must-See places. Enjoy walking up 200 plus steps at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum. The views from the top are breath taking! They also say it is one of the most haunted places, let us know if you agree with that!
7. I also wanted to mention another place we frequent when visiting, Alligator Farm. Many journalist, photographers, school clubs and families gather here to explore and wander the wooden walkways through many types of reptiles, birds and mammals. I love taking my son and letting him feed the birds, learn about the new babies being born there and visiting the largest crocodile they have named, Maximo!
St. Augustine is such a wonderful town to visit I know I have only touched on a few key places to see, experience and visit but please share some of your favorites in the comments below!

Travel: Stanton South Beach

A few short weeks ago I took a trip to the Dominica Republic.
I was asked to review the new Fathom Cruise line.
This gave me the wonderful excuse to also enjoy Miami once I was in port!
Another place to mark off my bucket list and an excuse to stay in the luxurious Stanton South Beach Hotel.
Only steps from the white sandy beaches, the boutique-style Stanton South Beach hotel balances Miami’s city life with the relaxing, beach vibe.
I checked in around 3 pm just in time for a quick look around.
Thoughts about my room you ask?
Be greeted with fine linens, fabulous 1950's style decor mixed with recently remodeled modern flare.
