Clifton Hill Fun Pass, Canada

**I received a free pass to facilitate my review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
We had the pleasure of hanging out on Clifton Hill in Ontario, Canada! First we stopped and got a "Fun Pass" which included 5 attractions to partake in on Clifton Hill. I love when you save on attractions because then you can do a bunch of things at your own pace.
Since it was a bit windy we decided to head into the Midway arcade and play some games. 70,000 square feet of fun, featuring over 300 games!
Then we decided to grab a moving chair and watch the new 6D experience!! "Just imagine being whooshed up into a wild ride on a massive screen where you're lifting and turning and moving and twisting into elaborate scenery. There`s no better way to experience the action".
My son loves reptiles and as soon as he saw this talking snake we had to head into the Movieland Wax Museum. I had never been into this particular one and was rather excited to see "who" was in there.
Mac was over joyed ( although in this picture you may NOT see this) when he spotted "Harry Potter". All of my other photos are of him jumping, blurry and squealing in excitement!! He was even wearing his beloved Gryfindor scarf, totally won him over!
After all of those attractions I headed into Tim Horton's for a warm coffee and chocolate chip cookie to let them enjoy the SkyWheel. I will just go on record and say I am not particularly fond of high wheels. I love rides, not scared of heights but something about wheels in the air get me a bit disjointed. So, I let them enjoy this alone.
The SkyWheel looks over Clifton Hill, attractions and where we stayed at the Sheraton on the Falls. Enjoy Climate controlled gondolas towering 175 feet over the Niagara Falls horizon.
What we enjoyed with Fun Passes: The ability to walk up and down on Clifton Hill at our own pace. These allow you to do an attraction stop, eat come back with little kids this is great! I enjoyed the attractions together they compliment each other well.
What could be Improved: I do not have really anything constructive because we enjoyed ourselves with these!!
Overall Ratings: 4.9 out of 5 Stars!!

Raspberry Tart Recipe #raspberrydessert

Raspberry Tart Recipe
What you will need:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 water
 1 carton of Dricolli's Raspberries
2-3 tbs. Honey (or you can use sugar to sweeten)
Create crust by adding flour, 1/4 water and salt into a bowl. Knead and then lay out flat as shown above. While you are mixing mash raspberries, 1/4 water, 2-3 tbs honey into a sauce pan and heat. Once the mixture turns to a jelly texture remove from heat and spread onto crust, as show above.
Roll the pastry up and slice into tarts!
It is ok if you spill out the jelly mixture just place on a non-stick cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 until golden brown.
We love these simple to make Raspberry tarts!
They are great for family gatherings and Summer parties. Enjoy!

Memorial Day

It's Memorial Day and I know people are off today with their kiddos. You are probably having a family picnic or maybe heading out to a Parade. McLachlan and I will be doing this as well today. Before you rush off and start your day I thought I would share a little story about my family. I know I usually post deals, parenting tips, advice, crafts, recipes you name it but every once in a while I include you readers into our lives. This is such an occasion. Every Memorial Day you will probably see this post because it will ring true and hold heavy on my heart as it does today. (All the pictures are of my own taking and are actual real events). On August 10,2010 my Mother, McLachlan and I drove down south to a Marine base. I will leave names and locations out of this for obvious privacy reason but those of you who have served can figure out which one I am referring to. On August 11th, 2010 we were told my Brother's company was due to come home.
My brother enlisted into the Marine corps before he graduated from high school. I have to say I was against it. My Mother signed the paperwork anyway and he was due to report within the week. When he told me this was what he wanted to do I was devastated and cried. He and I had gone through so much that I felt I was loosing my best friend. We had been friends since we were young and never fought like "normal" siblings. I couldn't imagine not looking out for him. Missing all that time and I was sure he would get hurt and maybe even sent overseas. After boot camp the war was upon us and he was sent to Iraq for a 2 year tour. A few minor scares hardly any contact and many cancelled times to see him later, he came home for a few days. Only to then be deployed again, this time to a hostile area in Afghanistan.
I can't tell you how many care packages we sent of gold bond, foods and bath essentials. Letters, hit or miss phone calls and emails. Our lives were lived completely separate, he missed out on holidays, birthdays, Johnny's Lunch and Lena's Pizza. Although, I will say that Johnny's Lunch ( a local hot dog shop) did send out care packages, of their famous Hot Dog sauces, to the troops. He was hurt pretty bad several times and the Red Cross did contact us with information when they could. The time finally neared when his company was due to come in. Anyone who has had a loved one deployed knows that they do not give exact times or dates of when they arrive just a two week time frame. We had not heard from him at all and was wondering what was wrong. So we arrived anyway and waited along with millions of other families in the hopes he would come home safely.
I watched with my little one as the ships came in and the hover crafts beached soldiers on land. Hours and hours went by in 90 degree weather but we didn't care the anticipation of 4 years of not seeing him was enough to wait. We held onto the dream he was alright and would make it home safely. Can you imagine waiting for days on end for two weeks never knowing when they will actually come in, if at all? This is how the military families live everyday.
So the next time you thank a vet, also thank their families!
My brother did in fact make it home! I was, We were one of the lucky one's! He will have those memories and experiences for his life time. I can't imagine what it was like. I don't pretend to understand years later. I know it was the best decision he could have made. My first worries and fears although logical where wrong and he was right. It was the right fit for him.
His life has benefited from it in many ways.
What am I thankful for? To me this is not a "holiday", Memorial Day, is a remembrance! A time to reflect on those who have served whether you believe in why they do it or not. A time to realize they gave their lives (or put them on hold), to help others with the ideal they are protecting each and everyone of us. So today along with all the other VETS out there we will be thanking today, our hearts will return to that day he walked off the Humvee and entered back into our lives again.
My brother, My friend, My hero!

Allstate: The Silver Lining for Breast Cancer

My grandmother, Helen, was an instrumental person in my life. She was blessed with both beauty outside and in. She helped found a Christian Camp, that services hundreds of young adults to know God. She worked to build what is now the Seneca, five Nations in Allegheny, NY. As a small child she taught me so much but it wasn't until her battle with breast cancer I would learn the hard lessons. Beauty and strength comes from within. She fought daily, lost parts of her women hood, little by little. I remember riding to her treatments listening to "He has the whole world in his hands" thinking she is so brave.
My grandmother lost her life to cancer but has changed mine forever. I hope to be a fraction of what she was to me to someone else. That beauty is within and shines outward. More than 250,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States each year. This disease effects not only those going through it but their families as well. "Allstate, through it's ongoing efforts to support the well being of women, is distributing the Silver Lining Companion Guide as a FREE resource to everyone impacted by breast cancer.
"The New York Times bestselling author of "The Silver Lining," was diagnosed with breast cancer, she wanted a book to help her get through the experience; something that was a practical and honest resource but at the same time hopeful and supportive. No such book existed, so Hollye wrote "The Silver Lining" with her friend and photographer Elizabeth Messina".
Although this guide does not take away the confusion, pain and emotions that often come with a cancer diagnosis,it does provide some balance, perspective and hope needed to get through the difficult times.
You can find a FREE copy HERE
Also find a list of Allstate offices that carry the guide in print here.
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Minbie Bottle review

**I received a free copy of this book to review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
I was lucky to receive new Minbie feeding bottles just in time for my niece! So many advances have come to the market since my son was born six years ago. We needed a bottle that feed without constant spills and was easy for her to transition from breastfeeding.
My niece is a precious surprise with all the inter-makings of a sweetie pie! However when it comes to feeding she is like every other hungry person CRANKY! These bottles are the perfect size for her in every aspect. After searching the market these are the only one's she really feeds from.
Minbie bottles have a unique shape and design of the nipple. With a upturned nipple, the bottle is designed to replicate what a baby would experience while breastfeeding. Which as I said was so helpful since she did nurse the first few weeks of her life!
For those parents that are looking for an alternative bottle with a unique and positive impact on the feeding, check out the Minbie bottles. They really are such a great asset to any new parents!

If you have young kids these three FREE educational Kids Academy Apps are MUST! We have these on our phones and tablet devices. This really helps waiting in doctor offices, car trips etc. Since they are free these apps offer a bunch of different options, games and learning outlets for you and your child.
1. Preschool & Kindergarten Baby Books
"With over 500k installs and an average rating of 4.5 stars on the App Store the app is designed to develop early preschool reading skills, enrich kids’ vocabulary and help with cognitive pattern recognition.

There are classic stories of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood that kids and their parents can now enjoy reading and/or listening to".

2. 123 Tracing
123 Tracing is a popular series of apps by Kids Academy available for iPhone, iPad, Android devices. 123 Tracing apps are designed to teach kids basic math through a set of fun games.  You can create multiple kids’ profiles in the apps when children share the same device. This is a great learning app for beginners or school grade children.

ABC Preschool Games

This app teaches letters, numbers, shapes, colors, develops fine motor control and promotes new vocabulary. We loved this one most out of all three offered. My five year old enjoyed playing in the games and tracing things.

6th Birthday Invites by HP Printly

"This post is part of a sponsored campaign with MyPrintly and MomSelect. All thoughts and opinions are my own." The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
My son's 6th birthday is right around the corner and I have been a bit stressed. To many tings to do on my check-off list, not a lot of time to do them. It is the one time a year I full on go out and create a party for him and his friends. I decided to break out these HP cards and create some fun invites!! I headed over to MyPrintly.com to check out the site for crafts, party d├ęcor suggestions ideas and inspirations.
The moment you all have been waiting for... wondering what theme I decided to use this year for his party......
It was a Circus theme lat year, check it out here.
We choose a "blue print" template which matched the "Harry Potter" theme we were going for this year.
You can use MyPrintly by simply downloading a version on your computer or downloading the app. I found it easier to download it on my laptop because I was right next to my printer and could print them off once I created them. They have so many inspiring crafts, templates to choose from. You do not have to print your creations at home, I just choose too. I am so happy with how they turned out and saved one as a keepsake for myself!
Even though I used the website for his invites I also recently used them for a Mom's Night Out party!! I will be sharing the fun we had on Friday of this week but wanted to show you what else is offered online. They are lso hosting a GIVEAWAY!!
Simply follow MyPrintly on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram, and then complete this brief entry form in order to be entered for a chance to win one of three (3) HP Envy Printers, HERE.
The contest will end on Friday, May 15th and winners will be randomly selected and notified the following week.  Please note, only residents of the U.S.A. are eligible to enter.

Totally Taken Care Of by Mom #TotalCareMom

** I was not required to write a positive review. I was compensated.
The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
Hi, My name is Liz and I am a MOM! A few months back I took the 21- Day Challenge with Listerine and well, I converted completely. Basically you pledge to switch out your old mouthwash and use Listerine consecutively for 21 days. You can check out the pledge here. Look at my teeth (above) they are happy & clean!! I wish I could say my family was as excited as I was. But, like troopers they tried it and now, like I said, we have completely switched!
But, summer is approaching and I want my family to be totally taken care of! As any Mom knows, it takes a lot to run a household. We worry about our children's hygiene, sun rays, scraps, BO-boo's the list is endless.
So I stocked up on some essentials at Walgreens, for the Summer months ahead as mentioned. I am so excited to sit back relax or run wild and crazy through the sunshine! I love my family and want to have fun whilst keeping them clean, safe and well protected!
They say after 30 days something can become a habit but it only took us 21 days! Outside, putting our feet in the sand, bicycling around, walking and just overall enjoying the sunshine is in our future months. Try some of these product and let me know what you think! What brands do you use?
What "takes care of your family"?

Hogsmeade At Universal Studios

If you have not already checked out our Diagon Alley experiences, check them out here. On our second day at Universal Studios we visited the "Hogsmeade park". I have to say again, details, craftsmanship and overall WOW factor is everywhere. This place is truly breath taking and magical because you are stepping into the movie and book pages.
They even have snow topping all the stores, houses and restaurants...in Florida! I enjoyed this effect because it looked authentic and really gave it the magic touch. If you would like to see our VIDEO adventures,
check them out HERE.
A large portion of this Park involves the Interactive Wand activities. These wands cost $50, so plan ahead.
If you are traveling with younger children, these activities are pretty much it in this region of the park. The rides require children to be around 48 inches in height, my five year old was not tall enough. Mind you he is in the 94th percentile in height. The Hogwarts Express requires a two-day, same-day pass which average around $200 a person, a ticket!
After walking around, casting spells, visiting the book that bites we decided to check out The Three Broomsticks. Hahaha, I felt so disappointed with this version Of Harry Potter Park at this point. The amount of money spent to come here, purchase tickets and see the prices in this park- We walked in and walked right back OUT! I enjoyed Diagon Alley Leaky Cauldron menu & pricing more!
The sight of Hogwarts is AMAZING. I will not deny that. I thought they would reenact sorting you into houses, touring through the great hall and common areas. NOPE, Hogwarts has one large 3-D like ride. The Sorting hat is off to the side and you can "tour" the castle quickly in the dark only seeing some moving frames if you do not ride the ride.
What we liked: Sights were breath taking. The hidden authentic brooms, Biting monster book, attention to details made you feel like you walking into the books and movies. It was a must see if you are a Harry Potter enthusiast!
What could be improved: There is no where to sit, only two shops to visit all the other store fronts are "fake". Not to much little kids can do as far as activities or rides. Hagrid's house is hidden. Hogwarts could use a little reorganization and add more "museum touches". My advice would be to place the authentic brooms, books, game memorabilia into the castle for people to see on the Castle Tours!
