June Netflix Picks #Netflixstreamteam

This month Netflix added one of the most enticing & exciting show!!
"Auction Hunters" -"Allen Haff and Ton Jones bid on abandoned storage units, uncovering the hidden gems of America's past and turning a serious profit."
This has been my go to watch when I am not outside enjoying the nice weather. I love to shop deals, rummage sales and go to consignment auctions. Anything to save and stretch my dollar for the best of the best. These two take it to the next level. They bid on Storage lockers and then sort through what they buy. Talk about my dream job!
They find anything from household mundane to antique guns, coins and Money!
They turn a small wager on storage units into pure fortune. If you like saving money, finding deals, finding antiques this show is for you! And lucky you because it is NOW on Netflix!
**I received a subscription this year to Netflix as part of the Stream Team review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.

How to: Create "Circus" Themed Signs

~How to: Create "Circus" Themed Signs~
What you will need:
Acrylic Paint
Spray Paint
Cardboard
Paint Brushes
Wooden Post
Use your acrylic paint to create signs.
I choose bright vibrant colors for these.
If this is a children's party, have your child join in.
Because my son is younger I gave him a bottle of sparkly nail polish and let him go.
Then I simply thumb tacked the cardboard to the wooden stacks.
Ta-Da!

How to: Take kids to Car shows

Anyone else enjoy the occasional Car show? I know some of you women are thinking..."UM, NO! I get dragged to them every weekend. Well, I feel for ya I do but the Car show scene can be real fun for the kiddos. What's not to love, Cars, oldies, music, free stuff & my personal favorite food!

First let's start off with the basics. A Car show houses some of the newest or oldest restored models of cars. These owners bring their beloved hunks of steel & metal in the hopes of taking home a trophy and cash prize! So, they are generally out doors in the heat & sun. Should go without saying bring some necessary items to help your kiddos adjust and stay happy (not whiny).
Sunscreen
Snacks
Water
Wipes
A stroller if they tire from walking easily
I am also going to throw this out there although Car shows can be fun remember they are also Adult events. So remember there will be some Adult content, activities going on you may want to have the kids avoid. Also, these owners take pride in the cars they show off... so little fingers are always asked to keep off these expensive cars.
This is another great activity you can take your kids too. Brush up on models of cars and help educate them. Ask them what cars they like and play the let's rank our favorite game!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe

**New Recipe we tried this week**
Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe
What you will need:
3 large bone-in, skinless chicken breasts (2 1/2 to 3 pounds total)
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup Soy sauce
1/4 cup Raspberry jam
1/4 cup Teriyaki Sweet Sauce
2 Tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, jam, sweet sauce, olive oil, garlic, onion. Then pour the sauce over the thawed chicken. Arrange the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker and cook the chicken on LOW for 4 to 5 hours until the chicken is fully cooked.
Using tongs, remove the chicken from the slow cooker (reserving the liquids) and place it on a cutting board. Remove the bones then use two forks to shred the chicken into smaller pieces.
Place the shredded chicken in a large bowl.

In a small sauce pan, whisk together the cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of cold water to make a thickened sauce. Bring the sauce to a boil and cook it until it thickened slightly, about 3 minutes. Pour the sauce over the chicken, tossing to combine. Serve the chicken on a bun or bread and Enjoy!

How-To Make #DIY Dog Toys

This dog toy is easy to make & inexpensive!
You will need:
Old Tee-shirts
Scissors
Find two old t-shirts. Cut off the bottom hem of the shirts.
Cut the shirts into 3 inch strips.
Cut each strip into two equal-sized strips by cutting each end apart.
Cut the smaller shirt into 3 inch strips. Do not cut the smaller-sized shirt strips in two!
(Shown above)
Lay out the strips from the larger shirt.
Lay out 9 strips into three piles.(shown above)
Each pile should have three strips; one of one color, two of the other color.
Pull on the ends of each strip. This will cause the strip to roll in on itself.
Use masking tape to tape the ends of the first set of three strips together.
I used all the same color to braid but you can choose any combination of colors.
Use a second piece of tape to adhere the strip to a surface. Braid tightly. Wrap the second piece of tape around the end of the first braid.
Repeat until you have three braids. Tape the ends of the three braids together.
Braid the three braids into one large braid. Tape the end of the large braid.
 Knot both ends.
This how our new toy turned out. Hunter LOVES them!!

How to Take your child fishing

I posted this a few years back and felt it warranted another shot. Taking Mac out fishing has been a fun activity that most families do not embark on anymore. I thought I would help. If you want take your little one out, here are some tips and tricks. Weather conditions! Check the weather forecast before you go just to eliminate any sudden surprises. For instance we hit high winds as soon as we got all of our equipment out of the car. So plan ahead!
Of course you need to purchase the fishing equipment before you plan a trip.
You will need:
*Tackle box ( you don't have to buy a special one I picked one up at an auction for $1)
*Fishing pole (Wal-Mart has them on sale)
*Lures, hooks & bobbers (you can score these with your fishing pole)
*Bait ( worms live outside and they are FREE)
*Fishing Net or Needle nose players
*Fishing license. You can get these at Walmart
When fishing with your little one try explaining what you are doing, as you are doing it, to help include them. He was not ready to bait his own hook but that's ok. We used worms for this trip! We bought them at Walmart ($3.25) because we just didn't want to go and dig some up, yes lazy butts we are! Remember to bring a towel, fishing can get messy.  Also practice "Catch & Release".
The last few tips don't really seem so important and may be common sense but are VERY important. Fishing is a waiting game! So bring snacks, drinks and a plan B if the fish decide they are not hungry. Most important have fun! So you may not catch anything or you hook a tree, sea weed and then some, so what? Stuff like this will help build memories and fun past times.
