Recipe: An Apple Pie Love Story

Yum
Often time people say I am hard to shop for. Now, personally I do not think this is the case but I've never had to shop for myself ;). This year I asked for anything Kitchen related. I personally enjoy cooking and love all things food related! The little things like a new oven mitt get me rather excited!! Having said that, I was rather surprised when this Thoughtfully Baking box came to my door.  They included in my box, two mini ceramic pie dishes that can be served straight from the oven to the table. Measuring spoons, Blue Ribbon apple pie spice and Blue Ribbon pie crust mix. There's an oven mitt, haha!
I received a free product to facilitate my review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations.
After convincing some of my fellow Moms to come over and enjoy a fun game night I decided to give this baking kit a try. I chopped up a few apples and added the Apple Spice per the instructions provided in my box.
Mixed the ingredients from the Crust packet as also directed. Knead, rolled out and cut my crust to lay nicely in the pans. Now most people cover their apple pies completely but we traditionally weave ours. You will see what I mean in just a minute!

I added the apple mix to my pie pans. Oh my goodness if smells could transfer online you would be getting all sorts of spicy cinnamon and sugar loveliness right about now!
Then I added the weave crust topping as I mentioned earlier. It was a little tricky since these are on the smaller size but completely easy to do! I think it just adds a little something extra personally!
Bake in the Oven as directed. I will say I brushed the crust with some milk and water mixture to help then get nice and golden brown. My Mom always taught me to do that so it's a habit!!!
VOLA! Two delicious apple pies perfect for a finger food gathering  or Holiday party! I have to say these box kits have grown on me. I didn't have to race to a crowded store and find all of the ingredients they came right to my door. It was so convenient and easy to make I will have to enjoy more of these boxes in the months to come! Before I jump off though do want to mention Thoughtfully has all sorts of great Gift box sets! Housewarming, Holidays, For him sets, For Her and even Cocktails!!
Let me know in the comments which box set you would love to have!!
