Day 1 of my Shoe drive #10dayswithout

Today marks a Special day for me. I can finally share what has been in the works for months & months.Today starts my next charity event! My name is Liz from the Western New Yorker blog & I'm going 10 days without shoes for those without in my town. For the next 10 days I will be shoe-less! Ten days. No shoes (unless driving it's the law!) Starts now....
I will be going 10 days without shoes (as part of a challenge inspired by 10dayswithout.com) to help raise awareness & donations to The Gateway Center. They provide clothing, coats, furniture, appliances, SHOES and pretty much anything one needs. They don't give hand outs but rather hand ups to help people get back on their feet and stay sustained to then live on their own without public assistance.

Nothing donated will be put into a land fill but rather given away to those in need!

  5. What a cool way to promote something! I typically donate my shoes when I am done with them, but never give much thought to going without shoes myself.

  9. I would gladly go ten days without shoes, but I think it's illegal to drive without shoes, so I couldn't do it full time. I hate wearing shoes most of the time, but do think everyone needs at least one good sturdy pair of shoes.

  16. Someone made a documentary here in the Philippines, something similar to that. He didn't do it though for 10 days, but he really roughed it. Goodluck and I admire you for doing this.
